THE UNFOLDING OF CENTERING PRAYER

Kess Frey

Featuring Kess Frey

Thomas Keating’s brief article entitled, “The Unfolding of Centering Prayer,” is one of the many treasures he has left for us.  Having read and re-read this article several times, Kess has discovered it to be surprisingly simple, repeatedly nourishing, comprehensive and most profound.

The article beautifully summarizes Thomas Keating’s overall vision of the spiritual journey from start to finish in the context of Centering Prayer practice.  In this evening workshop, Kess will explore some of the deeper dimensions and depths of our Centering Prayer practice.

Kess Frey first met Father Thomas Keating in 1989 and has been involved with Centering Prayer ever since, including much in-depth study of Fr. Keating’s teachings. He lives in Anchorage, Alaska, where he offers Introductory Centering Prayer Workshops, facilitates prayer groups and retreats, and is active in prison ministry. In addition to being immersed in the work of Fr. Keating, Kess has studied Eastern and Western Philosophy, Psychology and religion since 1965.  He has written many books related to Centering Prayer and the Spiritual Journey, a few of which will be available for purchase the night of the presentation.
