JOANNE WARNER AND JULIE SAAD WILL KICK OFF
CONTEMPLATIVE LIFE SUMMER PROGRAM

Contemplative Outreach will again offer a program as a contemplative bridge through the summer months while the Center is closed. This year's offering is from the Contemplative Life Program, developed by Contemplative Outreach, Ltd., which explores how to be a practicing contemplative, abiding in the presence of God in the midst of everyday life. You will receive a beautiful booklet with contemplative teachings for a 40-day cycle on Contemplative Service, exercises to actively engage the practice, and a list of suggested additional readings on the topic.
Joanne and Julie will begin the morning with a video, The Contemplative Life, featuring Fr. Thomas and several monks from St. Benedict's Monastery giving a perspective on their particular contemplative journey. This program is designed for the student to work at his/her own pace through the summer. Joanne and Julie will present a one-time orientation to the program on Saturday, May 7, 9:00 a.m -12:00 p.m. Students will receive their booklet as well as a list of students with email and phone numbers. Voluntary participation in study groups, face-to-face or by phone, are encouraged. We will also be creating a blog for all to read and comment on their experiences. The program will close with a summary meeting on Thursday, September 22, 7:00-9:30 p.m.
